Chevrolet Camaro 2015 review – A 100% American muscle car that makes heads turn

Nothing makes a sturdy impression like a full size American muscle car. The Chevy Camaro has been the dream car for a number of American generations. The recent launch of the 323 horse power, 3.6 liter, manual six speed transmission LS and LT models take the legend of Camaro a step forward. They not only rev up the competition but also reinvent some powerful dynamics that have been long missing in the American car industry. The 2016 Camaro looks a lot more trimmed around the corners, making to look leaner in muscles but well toned and in good shape. By all means we expect the Camaro to draw some first blood on its battle with the mighty Ford Mustang.

The power specs

Chevrolet Camaro comes with a turbocharged 4-cylinder, naturally air cooled engine. You can select in between V-6 and V-8 variants of the engine. This is the first time in a span of 30 years that Chevy has come up with a 4-cylinder. Fans also have the option to order for a 6-cylinder which will be strapped on to 8L45 8-speed automatic of the GM or a TrTR3160 6-speed manual transmission. The turbo charged engine can rev upto 275HP and give 295lb-ft torque which almost matches the specs of Cadillac CTS and ATS. As for fuel efficiency, Chevy claims the all new Camaro to give 30mpg in the highways although no word has been uttered on which transmissions give such numbers.

The interiors

Like every German car and its mighty opponent Mustang, the 2016 Chevy Camaro will also come with engine-audio enhancement. The 2.0T models will come with auto noise cancellation and with BOSE stereo you can even amplify the details of your favorite tracks to a new high. The steering wheel is flat bottom and Chevy claims to be providing an eight inch dash, which we find a little difficult to believe from seeing the pictures.

We see a touch of innovation in the ring based air temperature and fan adjustment which comes along side with inductive phone charging, all of which can be customized in give different color combinations. The interior lighting can also be customized with 24 colors. You can let your imagination go wild and find the best one that suits your personality.

All these years, the Fords with their Mustang have managed to Camaro and its likes from the stable of Chevrolet. Even the first Camaro that came out in 1967 was late by two years to give a competition to the Mustang. We have always seen the Mustang beat Camaro hands down with sales figures.

But with a range of cutting edge technology and more muscle inside its hood, the Camaro is gearing up for another fight; it is gunning for glory against its arch rival – the Ford Mustang. We have not seen a test drive of the Camaro yet. But the specs seem impressive and even more than that in certain aspects. How the model will fare in US and the UK is something that the future has to answer.
